Sarah McLachlan To Perform At Flight 93 Dedication

Today, the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, announced that Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will perform at the dedication ceremony of the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 10, 2011. The event will also welcome dignitaries, special guests, and Flight 93 family members and friends. A complete list of speakers and performers will be announced shortly. Through a partnership between National Park Foundation and HISTORY, the dedication will be broadcast LIVE beginning at 12:30pm ET/ 9:30am PT on www.Flight93Dedication.org and at www.history.com/flight93.

“We are honored to have Sarah McLachlan perform at the dedication of the Flight 93 National Memorial,” said Neil Mulholland, president and CEO of the National Park Foundation. “Her music will complement the commemoration ceremony as we memorialize the passengers and crew of Flight 93 and all of the heroes of September 11.”

The 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks will be observed at the Flight 93 National Memorial on the morning of September 11, 2011, beginning at approximately 9:30 a.m. The memorial service will take place at the newly-opened memorial plaza surrounding the site where Flight 93 crashed at 10:03 a.m. on September 11, 2001.
