Sarah McLachlan album review

This is the first album of new material in seven years by Lilith Fair’s fairy godmother and it’s firmly rooted in the adult contemporary pop that made her one of the ’90s most successful artists. McLachlan’s voice is as strong and emotive as ever, and it glows on 12 appealing love songs. “Bring On the Wonder” features a stunning, spare arrangement of piano and multi-tracked vocals. And the ballad “Forgiveness” will be popular with next season’s “Idol” finalists. There’s no fumbling toward ecstasy here, this is an assured return. Download: “Out of Tune.”
