Should there be a Sarah & Friends DVD/CD released?

Post by Miguel » Mon Jan 24, 2011 12:51 am

What do you guys think?

By year's end it would be 7 years since she released Afterglow Live -- not counting the 2CD Mirrorball

I'm pretty sure the DVD will include the whole concert.. the CD is another, it could end up being a 2CD with the whole show or a single disc with about 15-16 songs, which 15-16 songs would you choose if that was the only option?

For a single disc, my choice of tracks would be the following using the current setlist:
(current setlist can be found here: viewtopic.php?p=5003#p5003)

1. Awakenings
2. Loving You Is Easy
3. Stupid
4. Answer
5. I Will Remember You
6. U Want Me 2
7. Out of Tune
8. World On Fire
9. Good Enough
10. Path of Thorns
11. Forgiveness
12. Adia
13. Illusions of Bliss
14.Angel
15. Rivers of Love
16. Ice Cream

I excluded BAM because I'm sure we've heard enough live versions, and Fallen hasn't changed at all. Adia much like IWRY and Angel has really become a fan favorite recently, not sure why, but that's why I left it cause I'm sure fans looking to buy would want it there.

Bonus tracks:

Honestly, I don't want to hear (or watch) another live performance of Angel for the nth time lol. I'm still cool with BAM. But if there should be a new live DVD, Sarah must include at least 85-90% of her new material including UWM2 & DGUOU.

No kidding, she could only change Angel very little.. I had a bored-looking face when she performed these at the NYC shows. Even the addition of BB and MM didn't help

My two favorite versions of Angel are the one she did on Intimate & Interactive (1997) and live at etown (2006) during the Wintersong promo

She definitely needs to add new material to release.. still waiting for Heartbreak and Love Come live, myabe Changes

I'd keep Miguel's set list, only switching Adia for Building a Mystery.

I'm still dumbfounded at why she's closing the shows with Ice Cream and not Love Come or Bring on the Wonder. It makes absolutely no sense.

Here's mine:

1. Awakenings
2. Changes
3. Loving You Is Easy
4. Illusions of Bliss
5. Adia
6. Forgiveness
7. Love Come
8. Out of Tune
9. Don't Give Up On Us
10. Do What You Have To Do
11. Heartbreak
12. U Want Me 2
13. Rivers of Love
14. Answer

Encore:
15. Bring On The Wonder
16. Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

Sorry, I included all the new songs (lol) since this exactly what Sarah should do imho. I wanna hear some more live new versions of Fumbling too. I don't know about you guys but I feel like there's some underlying inexplicable void in an entire Sarah set sans Fumbling, but that's just my opinion. :)

1. Awakenings (A nice intro from Fear round a minute or so and then the song starts)
2. Loving You Is Easy
3. Circle ( a nice enhanced rock version )
4. Stupid
5. I Will Remember You
6. Answer followed by Prayer of St Francis ( a shorter acapella version )
7. Out of Tune
8. World On Fire (acoustic piano version with a cello followed by a solo and then )
9. Fallen (taking on the cello solo as a medley sort of.. with the full band though)
10. Path of Thorns
11. Ice Cream ( we dont want the crowd to get all depressed haha)
12. Heartbreak
13. Love Come (piano version with strings)
14. Adia
15. Blue / Possession meddley (piano version)
16. Forgiveness
17. Last Dance

I made some serious changes..i tried to keep it somewhat realistic though. Otherwise you would see way more FTE and Solace tracks on there haha

Honestly wouldnt it be awesome if she would make minor changes to songs just to spicy them up? Argh ...
(Btw i remember a year prior to Sarah Brightmans' Symphony i remember i wrote on the official fan forum something like " Ohh i wish for a new cd with a more goth feeling to it , cellos , violins and strong vocals blah blah and that was "Symphony" .)

Lets hope someones see that too :P haha

I hope she does a live cd/dvd from this summer's Hollywood Bowl performance. If she does I think she should focus on the new cd. I am not a fan of Changes at all, so if she excludes that I don't mind. Bring On The Wonder just doesn't do it for me.Another new song should be there in its place. I liked the way Rivers Of Love was changed. I like it when she rearranges the accompaniment. I also think one or two songs from each older album should be included. Some of them like Shelter, Home and even Black would work with a orchestra.

I think there should be, at least for nostalgia's sake. I know Sarah said at the Cincinnati show, when asked if she was planning a live DVD release for this tour, that she was filming some of the concerts and that "it was a possibility."

The bootlegs I've heard from this tour have all been fantastic, Sarah seems on top form. Seems a shame if she didn't take advantage of it, and release something.
