Dirty Little Secret in the studio.

The combination of her matchless piano and this melancholy song is perfect.

Fantastic find Ed. This is probably the best version of this song, its on my iPod so it must be.

Karine let me download the iTunes special of Sarah which had DLS as the final track. The narrative accompanying this sounded like it nearly didn’t make it onto the album. This would have been a mistake. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before on the forum, but, if DLS hadn’t been included I may never have been a fan. Afterglow was the first album I bought back in 2004 I think, and like many albums, I’d listen to it a few times and then it would be shelved. However, this track was a ear worm, and I couldn’t stop playing it over and over in my head. I took Afterglow of the shelf and the rest, as they say, is history.
The iTunes special version is supposed to be the very first time she played it to Pierre and he recorded it without her knowing. The production is a little iffy but it’s still a good variant. Listen to it Ed and let me know what you think.

Have you heard this new release? It's a collaboration between T. Thomason and Sarah. It's pretty good!

Nice song and lyrics.
Is this just a one of collaboration, or, a sign of things to come?

I think it's "just" a collaboration, but if they wrote or sing a song together (for Sarah's next album), I haven't heard about it.

Yeah, discovered it a few weeks ago! It had to grow on me, but I like the song...
You're so beautiful with an edge and charm
But so careful when I'm in your arms

Not really a collaboration, but a new cover for a tribute album to Leonard Cohen that will be released in November:

https://exclaim.ca/music/article/new_le ... p_and_more
Here It Is: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen is due November 11 via Blue Note, and features contributions from Sarah McLachlan (who does "Hallelujah," because obviously), Peter Gabriel, Iggy Pop, Mavis Staples, James Taylor, Norah Jones, David Gray, Nathaniel Rateliff, Bill Frisell and more. See the tracklist below.
